MC Management of Rochester Grills Up a New Downtown Burger Bar
How Will You ROC Your Burger?
A new downtown destination is ready to satisfy your craving for the best burger in Rochester, NY. Right along the Genesee River and directly across from the Joseph A. Floreano Riverside Convention Center, ROCBurger on Main has opened inside the Rochester Riverside Hotel. It poses the question “How will you ROC your burger?” with a build-your-own-burger experience that offers guests a generous list of choices from which to create a masterpiece.
ROCBurger on Main's name actually came from one of many entries submitted via a social media contest. The number of submissions was a testament to the fact that Rochester is excited about a burger bar downtown. “There were so many creative entries and we were thrilled with the response. But one perfectly summed up what we are, and that was ROCBurger,” says Kyle Strack, Director of Food and Beverage. The contest winner will receive free burgers for a year as well as the chance to create a custom “Chef's Choice” burger that will be featured on the menu for a month.
“ROCBurger on Main is going to be your favorite neighborhood spot in downtown Rochester,” declares Strack. “We want it be to a comfortable spot to gather and enjoy a meal, whether it be a burger or something else, where everything is made your way.” Located within walking distance of offices, the convention center, and entertainment venues such as the Blue Cross Arena, it's the ideal spot for business lunches and casual get-togethers with friends and family. It's also the perfect place to catch a game while grabbing a drink and some good grub, with large flat-screen televisions within view from every seat.
Quality anchors the menu with options like Certified Angus Beef or melt-in-your-mouth Kobe, valued for its flavor, marbling and tenderness. For those who prefer non-beef options, there is the savory turkey, the hothouse veggie burger and even seared salmon filets. Guests can choose from a variety of buns like warm pretzel, ciabatta and even a gluten-free bun. Cheeses like sharp cheddar, crumbly bleu, pepperjack and creamy brie can add even more signature flavor, accompanied with limitless garden items like baby spinach, sliced avocado, and crisp romaine. House-made guacamole, fresh salsa, flavorful aiolis and basil pesto are more topping selections that kick up the flavor levels. For a little extra, burgers can be topped with a fried egg, applewood smoked bacon and even shaved prosciutto.
There are also chef's choice burgers like the ROC Burger featuring melty brie and lemony arugula or the 'Q Burger spiced with a secret dry rub that pairs perfectly with the juicy angus beef. For those not feeling the burger vibe, there are “Not Burger” selections. Crispy fried chicken wings can be dressed in a variety of sauces. Creative salads like the Escarole Caesar and the Chophouse Salad are lighter options, but still pack in the flavor. A few entrees like Hanger Steak served with matchstick pomme frites and Buttermilk Fried Chicken accompanied by smashed potatoes and a green tomato slaw add even more variety to the menu. Don't forget to add sides like french fries (which you can order with gravy), house-made onion rings, tater tots, sweet potato fries or mac salad. Guests can enjoy a sweet addition to their meal with a creamy milkshake, whether it be a classic favorite like strawberry or chocolate or a more adventurous option like Nutella, peanut butter or coconut. Beer on tap showcasing local breweries, as well as wine and cocktails are also available.
